Best Battery

2nd try, 1st post ended up in the "introductions" forum

I have an 01 Husky that I bought new, 107 SS, no comp releases. The first 2 yrs I had Extreme Machine in Mass replace the starter twice under warranty and I went thru 3 batteries in 3 years. The first starter was prob my own fault as without comp releases its a lil tricky to start. I only got about 3 months out of that one and the second starter lasted and luckily failed just a month or so prior to warranty expiring. These where the only issues I had with the Dog, about a yr or so out of warranty. I blew a fork seal and decided since I live on south shore of Boston to bring it to dave perewitz's shop for the work ($200 labor/ $40 parts). I could also at that time hear the tell tale sounds of yet another (third) starter failure. One of dave mechanics suggest I forgo the Styke (sp) OEM starter and switch to an "AllBalls" starter and that $ for $ you can't beat a HD battery. Happy to say that the Allballs starter was the last starter I had to buy about 6 or 7 years ago. Installation was a breeze n only took about 30 minutes or so. As for the batteries, my last 2 have been genuine HD's for about $100 or so. I got almost 4 years out of the first n I guess I'm on my 3rd yr on the second. I really only use the trickle charger in the off season. BTW Walmart sells a great trickle for $20. A nice heavy pigtail connection n a swappable set of clamp style connections to use it on other batteries. The only other complaint/issue/problem w my dog in the past 9 yrs was squeaky drive belt but I figured out the adjustment trick to eliminate that a few yrs ago, I won't delve into that as it's off-thread n I've already been pretty wordy. Peace

I run the Braille in my 05 Ridgeback and it is one hot battery. When i forget the tender it aint a problem at all. These things will start any truck or boat out there also with half the space and weight.

I'm currently using the powersport conventional motorcycle batteries, but it didn't work fine, lots of problems encountered...so, i'm thinking of replacing it with DEKA batteries or Braille.

I have the Tomioka Racing battery on order and will report in as soon as I have it installed. The Bikemaster battery that is in my bike now is almost worthless. It will never do a full crankover on the first try. When it tries to crank the voltage goes down so low that everything resets and I have to hit the run button again to get things primed again.
