Belt question...

Hey guys... I went back a few pages and couldn't find any good info. If it is already there please direct me to it...

My 03 Mastiff is at 12,000 miles and the belt looks like it is ready to be replaced. Little nicks and small chunks are gone from it... I would prefer to have it come off in my shop not on the road at 70 mph... at midnight... with a hottie on back :whoop:

Anyway.. Feedback on brands, where to buy, what I should expect to pay, accurate time to replace so I can keep shop honest, any other services that make sense to do while apart (swing arm bearings?), etc... Fire away... Thanks, J

Gates is my brand of choice sometimes known as BDL as well. GAtes makes belts for just about anything and are not bad priced. You will need the size of the width and number of teeth. Not sure on price but would guess between $120-150. Wheel bearings might be worth checking. Other than that, just make sure you put some anti seize on all the parts to the swingarm pivot shaft.
