Belt question , Help please

So I noticed my belt was rubbing on the guard the other day.
So I made sure my rear tire was lined up right spun the tire and
the belt went to the right. So I took the cover off where the pully
is on the trans where the clutch cable ingauges the rod for the
clutch. The belt pully was loose , I could move it from side to side.
In and out seamed ok. There were two little hex blots that looked
like they keep it from moving from side to side. But there were several
more bolt holes where it looked like there were more hex bolt .
I'm not sure if I just need to get some more hex bolts or what's going
on. I would appreciate any help. Thanks. I really need to get myself
a service manul, But that's a few weeks out.

The same thing happened to me last week on my 2005 RB, there's even a technical service bulletin written for it. The pulley nut backed off and the tension placed on the pulley itself from the belt caused the belt to rub into the guard. The hex screws were not loose, but if yours are, they should have red loctite on them and torqued to 9ft/lbs...the pulley nut, should be cleaned of any debris or oil, add loctite 2760 (I just used red) and torqued to 50ft/lbs plus an additional 30 to 40 degres...per baker drivetrain manual. There should only be two hex screws on the pulley itself...

Thats happened to me and I have a thread on it somewhere here. Had to replace the nut and the hex bolts. Otherwise no other damage. I noticed the rubbing sound backing out of the driveway.

FYI, 2760 is just the Commercial number for the Red Loctite.
