I have an 07 Big Dog Bulldog that would occasionally shut off if I got on it too much while riding but would start right back up after coming to a stop and restarting.
Recently we changed exhaust and put a breather kit on it and the bike started up and sounded awesome.
I keep my bikes on an Xtreme battery tender and days after changing the exhaust and breather I noticed my led taillights were partially on for no reason at all and the bike would not start.
Starter would not even cycle.
The battery was suspect and after trying to jump without any result, went out and purchased a brand new battery.
No good.
Bike will not start.
My BF is probably the best Big Dog mechanic in the area and he has been trying to figure this bike out for 2 months.
He thinks the ECM modules are fried and is considering eliminating the EFI system altogether and going carbureted.
Not certain if the handlebar controls and speedo will work after eliminating the ECM's and really miss my bike at this point.

Any suggestions?

Don’t do it. There’s plenty of other options for replacing your ehc without hacking up your poor dog. Axel on the forum here makes a unit, the dead one has the esc, big dog even sells a unit to replace the ehc. Are you getting any lights on the unit itself? What about the rest of the bike any power to the lights or buttons

You said your led lights were in for no reason at all, Sounds like a short or ground issue somewhere. One of my dogs does this when It get rained on, the led lights I put under the tank and the swing arm light up even when the switch is off, I imagine this is because the water is allowing current to pass, might not be your issue but could be something similar. Your obviously getting power to the led somehow
