BDM Ridgeback/K9 Nada book values and reality...

Looks more and more like Im going to have to wait and save up more cash to buy my BD chopper.

I thought Nada values were reflective of this current market...or even higher than reality.

Just came back from Dream Machines in Dallas...they have 06 Ridgeback listed at $16.9k and a K9 at $17.9k. The Nada's are far lower.

Salesman said "...we cant get these at nada..." of course everyone knows when a salesman is lying...

...but WTF!!! Now I'm about $4k short...may miss this riding season.

Oh well, I'll buy in the middle of the frigid winter I guess.

Can anyone offer realistic perspective?

Thanks to all the Dog lovers.

Keep looking. A Fellow member just let a beautiful low mileage 03' Chopper go for 11K. Goodluck. I know the feeling. I waited 3 years to pull the trigger on one.

Thanks everyone. Hoarding every cent I can to come up with more cash to buy an '06 or '07.

Cant describe the feeling when I sat on a Ridgeback...maaaan! this is one cool bike...

I cant stop thinking about em...Im infected with it. Also plan on buying a trailer just in case I need to call my wife to pick me up under a shade tree.

You guys are very fortunate to have one of these.

When I went to this dealer, and sat on the bike, then looked around at all the Harley's...no offense but they felt so...retirement. Just uninspiring to say the least.

Maybe its my stage of life...but these choppers have captured the essence of biker freedom for me. And that includes freedom of any thought of fitting in or being just like everyone else. Totally liberating.

Keep the patience and a close eye on here and elsewhere; I have no doubt you can find a nice used Ridgeback or K9 for a bit lower than those prices. Just be ready to move on it quick when the opportunities come along - a good deal doesn't last long with 'em, but they are out there.

Another round please
Buy from a private party. They will tend to be more desperate in these hard times. Bring a wad of cash.

Seach Tempest

Use craigslist, and use a search engine called "search tempest" Searches all the craiglists in whatever mile radius you want. Cuts the search time in half. Found my bike on it last year and my good buddy just last week bought an amazing 2005 Big Dog chopper with a ton of extras and in great shape for dirt cheap. We would just comb the search tempest site 3-4 times a day. Like everyone says, money talks and talks real loud in this economy.
