I need to refill the primary on my 2004 Bulldog. It has less than 2000 miles on the original fluid that the factory put in it. However I have already dropped that out and want to put the stock type/brand back in so that there won't be a compatibility issue possibly. With all the vast opinions of what will or won't do in this application I have decided to try and match the original stock fluid . Appreciate your time Dogpack ...

2000 miles on the original fluid on a 2004. Damn time to change it even if the mileage is not that bad.

I would just go with simple RevTech Primary fluid or something similar. Then get out and ride that baby and change it out routinely like, every other oil change, but at least once a year if possible.

Cheap and good insurance

I use Spectro heavy duty chaincase lube.
I also use Spectro heavy duty 6 speed 75w140 in the tranny

Premium Type F ATF here on both mine and Rocky's dogs. The only thing I would suggest is that you don't put 100% full synthetic as some have had slipping issues with that.

BigDogBro1

Made in the USA
Type F (Old standard Ford ATF) seems to be the choice, even by Baker Drivetrain and Energy One (clutch pack) who make the components.

 on the synthetics.

So I got my K9 in I just bought. Just like my last one, I drained all the fluids and Amsoil the engine, Redline in the tranny and primary. No issues with my last bike with the redline but this one is causing problems with the clutch. I instantly noticed it. Can't get into neutral without shutting off the bike and when I start it and put it into gear with the clutch pulled it rolls forward. Per the "How to" section, I adjusted the clutch and cable and still same problem. Is it the Redline Primary Fluid???

I'm think'n it's the syn oil. Dropped it, pulled cover and clutch pack and cleaned it all up. RevTech oil on it's way....
