Not sure how well they will do, but given that they have moved into the ME market, Canadian and now some European area, sounds like Sheldon is doing everything he can to keep afloat and keep BD around for awhile.

May be just what is needed to keep the doors open if they can sell a few over the waters and borders long enough for a recovery to take effect, get some new model out (Bobber, Bobber, Bobber did I say Bobber) and remain a factor in the decreasing market but one that will be around for awhile.

I'm all for it and hope he does well! :2thumbs: Hey, whatever it takes to keep our favorite motorcycle company afloat in these hard economic times!
(although everything I've heard says Europe is in as bad or worse shape than the US :zzdisappointed:...hope he didn't miss the window of opportunity)

ur correct, europe is on thier way to a recession , even the queen put off getting a new roof on buckingham palace, bigdog may be a little to late, wish em luck anyway :2thumbs:

Some of you guys are correct, europe is going into a double dip recession! just got out of 1 and now for another..............what a bummer!

I would think it would be a limited market, but I also think the intended clientele are very hungry for bikes like ours !!! :2thumbs: I am hoping they do very well !!! :2thumbs:

i guess they will do very well in germany. because a custom bike is like 50K, and most of them come with suzuki engines. you can not compare with the us price. i no what i am talking about, because i am german. my k9 i could easily (in germany) for 40K.

I'm not convinced that we're going into a recession.
Unemployment here in Germany is going down very quickly, we are heading numbers that are less than 3-4 years ago when economy was overheating.
Also export works very well, they sell a lot of the BMW 7, Mercedes S, Porsches and all these luxury cars to asia....... Exports in machinery to asia are also recovering very fast.

I myself am looking fo a nice deal on a used K9. Pricing of BD in Europe is rediculous:

These are net prices, put on 19% sales tax :eek:.

45600 $ for a K9 with base paint :loony: .

But all BDs must be built over to European legislation: emmissions, noise, lights, turn signals etc.

But I rely on American Iron - I imported a 08 Sierra Denali AWD on my own and love it. Will never go back on a BMW, Mercedes or other!!

If we in the USA are having issues getting parts for our bikes right here,well how will this fair for foreign trade?Will they be in the same boat only worse? does this affect BDM reputation?I surely hope this works out well for them....

I think a lot of our parts inventory in the US is going to the Canadian and European Dealers to stock their parts inventory.

Good for Sheldon. He's being proactive and taking a risk. With big risk comes the potential for bigger returns. At least he's not rolling over and closing the company. Personally, I've always been a risk taker in business and I can respect his decision. It's balls-to-the-walls time and he'll either sink or swim.
