I was just told by a sales rep for BDM yesterday that they just signed on as a dealer for Drag Specialties. Usually you have to go through your mechanic to order something you want from them. This way you can buy online through BDM. :2thumbs:

Yeah....just another layer of profit we have to pay, most likely parts purchsed through BDPP will be higher than direct w/Drag Spec.

Note to all: Drag Specialties batteries SUCK!!! Been there, done that. Coming from the horses mouth, they won't last a month on your dog. I've been satisfied with other items from them, but definitely not their batteries.

On the west coast you can only get Drag Specialties products through a dealer. Can you east coast guys buy direct from Drag.?

In the East we also have to go through a dealer.

Rasdes, I spoke to the BDM rep with the same thought you had in relationship to adding a layer to make a profit, but he insured me that it is what's listed on their website and all buyers have to pay is the $5.00 shipping fee. Let me tell you, everyone is making a profit.

BadBrad, I purchased a battery from "Batteries Plus" store, and it came with a 2 yr warranty. The battery only lasted a little over a year and I brought it back and they replaced it under the warranty. Now I have another two years on my new battery.

What drag does is put up list pricing in catalog....dealers will usually be around 50% of that cost so they can make a profit....if its anything like other industries. ..

Drags discount to the dealer is 30-35% . The more a dealer buys he can get a bit more. That's not a ton of profit is you consider freight costs and just the cost of keeping the lights on at a shop and trying to squeeze out a living.

Accurate statement.

My drag specialties battery would last 1 to 3 months, then I got another for free due to warrenty. Another 2 months, it crapped out on me. It always seemed to die away from home. It's worth the extra money to have a battery that won't leave you stranded. If I got over a year on one, I wouldn't complain......as much. :D
