Not defending them but have you spoken to them first about their error and given them a chance to make it right before publicly calling them assholes?

Too bad humans make mistakes. I hope if you make a mistake against someone that they are more understanding and forgiving instead of publicly bashing you.

Jesus, let the man vent. It his time and money. Plus its another screwed up order from a shell company of a bankrupt business that fucked quite a few warranties on the way out the door.

Got to take the good and the bad when it comes to experiences.

Unless of course if your on the Jim Jones jungle juice.

If we did a poll I believe we'd find far more incorrect, wrong part and other issues than we'd find hassle free transactions.

Old habits are hard to break and when BDM knew they were going under they still took orders and payment for parts the knew to be unavailable and permanently back ordered. They are still doing this under the new company's name. They should spend less time on selling their damn tshirts and other Branded novelty shit through the email bombs they send and start procuring real parts. Hell, their name is now Big Dog Performance PRODUCTS! Not Big Dog Performance T-shirts, shot glass and license plates.

Yeah, it's odd that the people that used to make the bike can't get the correct parts when ordered! I ordered a part about a year ago, specifying the year and model of my bike, and received the wrong part. However, once I pointed it out to the guy, he shipped me the correct part and I had it within a few days. Nice that he took care of it so quickly, but it didn't help that I had the bike all back together with the old part back in by the time it came. The old part worked fine, but I was hoping to replace it with a new one as suggested by the manufacturer when the swingarm bolt breaks.

Wait a minute. Are you saying Big Dog went under? When did this happen?

I was in the same boat as you. Just looked through my parts yesterday I had ordered. I gave specific details on the part I needed and he assured me He knew exactly what I needed. Wasn't a hard part to describe either (front wheel bearing dust seals). Like you, I cleaned and put the old part back on the bike. Will call them tomorrow to arrange return of these incorrect parts.

Um, they are called EHC's. Maybe that's why some parts are wrong--the consumer may be asking for the wrong part. My only suggestion would be to perhaps email a picture of the part that you are asking for so that even if you don't know the name of it, at least they will see it and know what you are talking about instead of trying to figure out what you are describing. Just a suggestion. Vent away...

Is the person taking the order a certified mechanic or someone that actually works on Big Dogs? Go with what you know. I know when I want the right part for either mine or my wife's Dog, I call Biker's Dream of Atlanta. I'm sure others like Strokers also know what you're needing without a picture being sent to them.

I gave them a chance..it failed. No big deal. I took extra time and took care of it myself and now it is solved. Just like everything else...I tried to take a short cut and trust someone else. My bad..I should know better. But when the dog is down I want her up and running fast. :)
