Weekend before last we went to Las Vegas Bikefest and I couldn't get over the seemingly complete lack of Big Dog bikes!

Cashman field was completely devoid of any Dogs. (and of course way less vendors of all kinds this year). There were several other MC companies there such as Saxon, and Victory, Ness, Proper out in Henderson at Arlen Ness's big showroom.

Showdog had originally said he would be there with the Big Dog truck and bikes but then he posted this as many of you recall:

I agree except that I don't have the time or energy to deal with clothing at shows. We are alone at 95% of the events we attend and for 1 person to try and handle the booth, the bikes, the questions and sell clothing is a bit much. The amount of theft would waaay outweigh any potential profit from having that stuff there.

Doesn't matter at this point anyway, we are not going to be attending Vegas after all.
Linda and I went out to Pat Clark Motorsports (LV's only Big Dog dealer) and they had ONLY 3 Dogs on the showroom floor which were almost hidden by Ducati and other sport bikes AND hardly any customers. The salesman there said they had only 2 other Big Dogs which they had taken down to Bikefest headquarter hotel (the Sahara casino which we did not get to).

So it appeared to me that in all of Las Vegas there were only 5 new Big Dogs for sale and NO company representation!!! Something Wrong here for a big city the size of Las Vegas?? Care to comment you members with Dogs in LV (Vegas, Vegaspitbull)?

Just before we went to Pat Clarks, we went to Las Vegas Harley Davidson and their lot was full of Vendors, bands, BBQ and lots of activity. While there we saw lots of "tricked out, lowered, Gangsta-looking Street Glides with forward curving tall apes". Just maybe that's the only thing KOOL in Vegas now. (Maybe Gas and his vision of this bike being the Chopper of the Futiure was indeed "Right-on".

Sure hope that Las Vegas is not the future of BDM.:(

But Oh Well, who needs Big Dogs when this lovely creature was on display:

Vegas has never been big on dogs honestly. I rarely see one running around and I get around man. :D I'm OK with that. I hate having what everyone else has. I didn't go to Bikefest so I'm just as guilty as anybody else. Maybe I should just buy me a harley and be like everybody else around here. Yeah right....

I just got back from 2 weeks in the Pheonix area and didn't see any Big Dogs, and very few customs at all. I think the distances out there dictate something more comfortable and reliable. Local dealership said they weren't selling any. I did get this nice picture of the sales girl though...

Well, comparing Arlen Ness's showroom and Pat Clark's, I would say that a lot more Big Dogs would be sold out of Ness than Clark (if Ness was a BDM dealer.

Just seemed a shame to me that at a show as big as Las Vegas Bikeweek, BDM was pretty much "absent"!

My wife and I went to Pat Clark Motorsports a couple of months ago while we were in Vegas on business. Only a couple of Big Dogs on the floor then. Wasn't really impressed with the shop but we did get a few shirts. But I have to agree, you would think for Bikefest, they would be doing it up right with a party. :whoop::whoop:
