BDM and Ironhorse survey

Was reading the Ironhorse forum, similar to this one ( but our guys seem so much more helpful) and the question was made "would you ride your IH more than 300 miles in day"? Over 90 % said no due to reliability issues. A few said no due to back problems ( can relate). But lets ask here would you trust your ride to go 300 miles in a day?

Shit
I put 1300 miles on my K9 in 2 days and only stopped for a 2 hour nap.
And that was right before I spent the next two months riding another 5700.

Yep me to. Gone up to Michigan for a visit.... 10 hours of riding I'd say about 500 round trip. I'm convinced I can go without a issue.

When I've been on a trips with the K9 I usually ride 300-500 miles each day. I broke a clutch cable on one trip and had the clutch nut come loose on a another trip. I wouldn't be afraid to ride it anywhere.

Not a problem, have done so many times and look forward to do so again when the weather breaks. Hell one time just over 700 from South of Atlanta to just south a Maryland, straight roll, just stop for gas, cigs, food. Bike did fine, ass was sore but recouperated well.

Keep the maintenance up, mods reasonable and get on the sucker and ride it.

I just sold a 2004 Ironhorse LSC. Just bought my 2006 K9 about 2 weeks ago. There's no comparision in the ride. Big dog all the way!!!

I have no worries. Headlight snapped off on a five state poker run in western OK. Fab a bolt to hold it till I got home. Lost my starter at Rot after a 500 mile ride in 100 deg heat. Pulled it off at the hotel broke it down cleaned it and had a hole drilled soI could still start it. Rode it all week that way. Its called tools and there uses. Tell those bitches to look it up.

Longest ride was 1205 miles in 18 hours. I have done several 500 - 600 mile days on my 2005 Chopper, all in comfort and with the confidence that all would go well.

I am not concerned about a 500 mile trip in a day. I try to limit my rides to 350 or so per day if I want to do other stuff. But, if I need to get somewhere, then 500 plus miles with frequent quick stops for gas and biological breaks works. Over 500 miles in over 100 degree fahrenheit heat will wear you out by the end of the day so I start early when it is dark for some cooler riding to knock out some miles on a "I have to get there trip".

PS I load up the night before so I can minimize the thought process when I leave the house. I am probably not quite awake for the first two or three hours.
