Does anyone know if one of the shocks on the BDM air ride is oil filled?
I have oil dripping from under my bike, and it seems to be coming off one of the rear shocks. The oil level in the tank is fine, as well as the tranny. I didn't think the "backup" shock or the air ride shock was oil filled, but I cant figure anywhere else it could be coming from.
If one of these shocks Is busted I am gunna be pissed...

Thanks guys...txchopperguy

I just did some work on my air ride.
There was only one air line going to one shock. I thought I read that one of the shocks is air and the other is like a back up in case the air ride fails.. Does it have oil in it? Im not sure... But I'm curious to find out myself..

Yeah, I noticed oil on the garge floor, but that was it. Air ride seems to be fine, just oil dripping off the underside of the shock rhar is mounted on the right side...and not even much at that. Hell if I wanted an oil leaker I would have bought a Harley...lol!

I have the Progressive air ride on my texas chopper and one shock is the air that adjusts the height of the ride and the other is the hydraulic to help with the dampening. Some time they leak a liitle oil and then settle down, if not you can get them rebuilt.

Probably not your shock, , BD slim'd down their engine post 05 and as a result your starter gets filled with Primary oil if you dont put less then recomended amount of Primery oil in. It appears to be coming out of your shock but it is actually coming out on the bolts that that assemble the starter. There are numerous thread on starters pissing oil...

Well the oil is coming from the rear of the shock, and that is a pretty good distance from the starter... so I really dont think thats what it is. Guess the secondary shock is oil filled, and mine is now leaking.
