BD Speedometer on a 12v system?

I think I've asked this question before but searched the archives and couldn't find it. I'm changing my electrical system over to a very basic 12v. Is the speedo output from the tranny 12v? Are there any functions on the speedometer that will give me an issue, or anything I should know before wiring this thing in? I'm running a Dyna 2000i Ignition and a white faced speedometer.

Put switched 12V to red wire and ground black wire (this is true for speedometer and sensor). Run green wire from sensor to green wire of speedometer and you will be golden. All speedometer cares about is if it is getting 12V and that it sees the signal from the speed sensor.

I'm on 12 volts with the orginal speedo and no problems. This post kind of seems a waete of time after night trains though!
