The battery will slowly loose charge over time. The battery tender will keep it fully charged. It is important when you let your bike sit for a while between uses. The enricher should only be used to get the bike started. Once it is running for a few seconds, turn it off or you will foul your plug.

On our carbs we have an enrichener instead of a choke. A choke reduces air flow to achieve a richer air/fuel mixture, the enrichener adds more fuel. Unless it is REALLY cold, I would suggest using just 2 twists of the throttle and fire it up. Use the enrichener as a last resort (or get yourself a good plug cleaner :D ) Also make sure your idle is not set too low. :2thumbs:

a battery is either charging or discharging. All the time, nothing in between.

If you need the enrichener to start the bike turn it off straight away and hold the throttle at about 1500 rpms to warm the bike up.

Stay off the enricher! Your plugs are probably already fouled up so replace them (they are cheap) and then you should be able to get it to start easier so you can adjust the carb. Set that idle up to 1000 rpm.

You didn't bother mentioning what year bike you have but on the new models the tach lights will flash like a christmas tree if the idle is set to low.
