Yeah if you need something fast and easy. HD AGM battery for any softtail. If you want to make sure... take your old BDM one with you.

Whatever you get Beano make sure you buy a "Battery Tender" for it. They are about $25-$30 and you you're local HD dealer will have them in stock.

how do these batteries compare in size to the BDM battery? I could do with one a little smaller, particulalrly in height

I did get a new battery today 310 cca.My old battery was toast.I was hoping my starter wouldnt drag with the new one but it stayed the same.Some one told me that the stock starters in 02 & some other years were junk and just dont have enough ass for the bikes therefore they ware out prematurely.Maybe I need a high torqe/output starter.I dont really know.
