i manually depress both, makes life easier on the starter.

Are your CR Manual ones? I do depress them every-now & then to make sure they are not stuck, but they do spring back up as they are not Manual ones but electric.
If the CRs do work properly there is no difference on depressing them manually b4 cranking.
Correct me if I am wrong.

I tried pushing mine in before starting the bike and your right franco, they pop right back up, no difference in starting at all, so does that mean they are not working?Are your CR Manual ones? That´s fine, they activate only when you hit the start button. They should NOT stay down unless they were "manual ones" :up:I tried pushing mine in before starting the bike and your right franco, they pop right back up, no difference in starting at all, so does that mean they are not working?
To test them, you can place your finger on top of the CR (without pushing it down) then push the start button and you should feel the CR going dowm for 1-2 seconds.
Don´t do it with a hot motor or you will burn your fingers!!!

Well I went out today and did what you said to do to check the compression releases and as soon as I hit the start button I felt the compression release go down! They seem to be working fine, bike ran great and when I got home after a short 50 mi ride around town I checked the battery and it was at 13.02 volts, everything seems to be fine, still when I hit the start button it turns over slow on the first revolution and then it fires right up!
