Battery post glowing hot!!!

if you live in a cold area , try pushing down on the comp. releases with you finger, [less for the battery to do!]
same thing if you find your battery is low on charge,,
if you have low voltage the starter just "slams" the voltage in the system,
comp. releases dont get a chance to move! engine wont roll over.
these bikes because of [style] have small batterys for the cubic ins. engines.

THIS IS WHAT FIXED MY MELTING PROBLEM,,
FYI; just prior to the melting problem, this bike would have to be on the charger every night or it would not start. neither of my prior two BD's had this problem.
NOW I also had the problem of melting the post and shorting out the battery. i also had the slow starting or dragging of the starter.
the first time they said it was a loose post. replaced cable.
second time (with in a few weeks) a loose post again, replaced post and battery with a HeavyDuty unit.
the third time it melted the post they went thought the harness system and found the vr was loose and was causing a bad ground.
after repairing the VR, and again replacing the cables, the Problem STOPPED.
no more post melting and no more slow starts.
NOW, after the fix, this bike can sit for a week with no charger and fires up immediately. SWEET.
and thats their story and their stickin to it....
