Battery or EHC?

It's been happening more and more lately... I start up and take off and the speedometer isn't reading. Turn the key off while rolling and turn it back on, fire it off and it starts working.

Thought at first it was me just doing something before the odo cycle was finished or after it not firing up the first time and not going through the cycle again.

I think it's just the battery being slightly low... I hooked up the tender last night and didn't have any issues with it today.

Also check your voltage from the regulator. Mine was puttin out less than 12 volts and I didn't have problems on short rides. Went about 160 miles and bat was dead. Reg was dyin just not fully dead. Got a new one and its good to go. Bike is a 08 that was 2 years old in Jan of this year.

Low Battery will do the same thing, or even a loose Stator

The EHC takes a lot of blame for many issues

Also remember, once starting the scoot, to recharge the battery takes about 20 miles of steady riding. anything less than Fwy speeds and the battery prolly is not getting fully charged.

Speedo might need to be flashed also. My buddys 08 K9 was doing the samething. He took it to the dealer and they hooked it up to a computer, flashed it. He hasn't had a problem since.

My bike is on a battery float charger 24/7 when I'm not riding. The two Battery Tender Jr.'s I have won't go into FLOAT mode on my MC battery. They work on the cars just fine.
