I would think if your over 14 volts running, its working but not over 14.8
41.1 is prolly a little much:oldlaugh::oldlaugh:
Are you sure your on the right setting? 41.1 is probably not possible I assume you mean 14.1.

Realistically test the battery bike off should be 12.8-13.5 ..then do it running and hopefully not 41.1 but like 14.1 should do the trick.

I did this, it is putting 41.1 volts out at 3k rpm. I think it needs to be 14.2-14.8 Right?
Not really.
12.8v = Static charge.
12.8v w/Engine running = Not charging at all.
13.?v w/engine running = Not charging well showing stator/rotor, not vo/reg that can read and dump excess.
14.1v w/engine running = Charging fine.
14.5+v w/engine running = Bike was sitting and battery needs more 'balance.' Think ohm's law.

As Sven would say, if you disconnect the ground from the battery and then touch it on the battery, does it spark? If it does there's a short somewhere
Good Info. With my stock EHC, every time I connected the negative cable to the battery there was a small spark. I just upgraded to the new R.I.P Gen II EHC kit and the first thing that I noticed is that there is NO spark when connecting the negative battery terminal.

The stock ECH had memory, that's why it needed constant tendering, the wiring harnesses being offered now don't have the memory. If your bike was purchased new when they were in business, the dealer would check the stored info to make sure you didn't go over the break in RPM's, if you did, it could void your warranty.

so sorry I meant 14.1

So may I assume 14.1 volts to the battery at 3K rpm, It's all good? I just got a bad battery to start with?

I also would like to say a big thank you to the members of this BDM forum that responded to my question. I had no idea there was so many willing to help. I thank you all for the input.
