BONE, we are getting smoke down here in New Braunfels..60 miles south. My son and his cousin are helping load and haul livestock to holding pens in Elgin. He said its like a war zone. Hope they can get it under control soon. Pray

I've been watching it closely because when I moved to Texas, it was to Bastrop. My friend has a house there that we are praying is spared... so far it looks like her portion of Tahitian Village lucked out.

This fire defintely hits close to home.

My daughter lives in Cedar Park. She sent me a picture this morning. It sure looks like it's worse now.

Terrible! If only the Northeast could send you some of their rain. How in the world are the ranchers (and farmers) in Texas able to deal with all this? (drought and fire and heat). Sorry for everyone suffering there.

We were trying to figure out how to get the flood waters of the mississippi out here when the Morganza spillway was opened in Louisana earlier this year. It's bad when an entire state prays for a hurricane to change course and hit it.

Wow! Now doesn't that statement put things in perspective! Hang in there Texas folks!

Yes we say give us the hurricanes.....buildings and such can be re-built but people, businesses, livestock/animals need water to survive. all the ranchers are basiclly selling everything they got cause they cant afford to feed them anymore. Friend of mine works at Producers ( livestock seller) and he has been working non-stop for the past four months selling. If we dont get a change of weather, we will start looking like the desserts.

Ray -

I have many friends down in that area and have been praying for them. I am grateful for others who will join in praying for rain and praying for safety for many who are involved in these fires - those who may see their home burn down as well as many fire fighters who are tired and need strength to continue fighting these fires.
