I have read as much as I could about the PDM "upgrade" on these forums (great information!!) and on the BDM site. I could not find an answer to what I think is a simple question, so if I missed it, I apologize in advance.
I have '06 Chopper (air core speedometer), which like some of the bikes I have read about here, basically "eats" batteries. I ride the Dog at least a couple of times a week during the season, and if I go any longer between rides, it goes on a tender (was using Battery Tender, now using the Norco). These are good batteries, btw, like Tomioka, Deka, etc.
By the end of the season, I experience the dreaded "no speedometer, no odometer" problem. Whether they work or not is completely hit or miss until I put a new battery in. It seems to have gotten a little worse the last couple of seasons. The bike has always started, though.
My question is whether installing the PDM will fix the battery drain issue and make the Dog act more like a "normal'
bike. Has anyone experienced the same problem and seen a change when they did the swap?
Thanks!!
PS I tried to contact BDM via email about this, but they did not reply.
