Riding home from the bar Saturday night (Working not drinkin  ) Only about 3 miles and running 30 mph 2 grand and all of a sudden ((((BANG)))) flash of fire out the tail pipe and the bike died. coasted to a stop and fired it back up after I stopped laughing means it happened when I was passing a cop. Started up with full choke and shut choke off and continued like nothing happened. Has this happened to anyone else. Had problems in the past with Vapor lock but thought that issue was gone but now HMMMMMM

I would say you ran out of gas again. With all the miles you have on your scoot have you pulled the carb and cleaned it out lately? When I changed pipes I decided to change the manifold seals and then decided to check the carb. It was a good thing I did cause I couldn't see through either jet! They both had crap in them. So, blew everything out with lots of air and it ran good as new again.
Another thought is your key switch. Seems some have gotten real loose and killed the bike. I would make sure you don't have anything on your key ring that is flopping around wearing out the switch.

Good luck,
Ray

Yeah the key switch is in an after thought location. I have hit the key off with my knee but I guess its in good location for the bar hopping riders not for the 10k plus club.
I will do the rebuild carb and No I didnt run out of gas but Yes I have done that twice but only when I run hard and have a head wind :bang:
Guess if I was a little guy I wouldnt have as much wind resistents

No I didnt run out of gas
Didn't mean that way. Meant that somehow maybe the carb run dry due to a plugged jet or whatever. Still think it may have been the switch.

Good luck,
Ray

dang I think I am Vapor locking again time to tear the gas cap apart.

I have a question when do you put your gas cap while filling your bike? Hate putting it on my seat so I put it on the pump gets dirty up there so I have to stop that
ran with the gas cap loose and ran like a champ

Have you tried to run it with the gas cap not put on all the way... hell just for cause.. run it without and see if it dies going around a few blocks...

I'm pretty sure there is a piece that comes out of the gas cap to help with this problem....

Yes I removed the gas cap totally and dang thats hard to ride with the gas cap between your legs trying not to scratch the paint ha All fingers point to the Brain (EHC) so I ordered one (Still under warrenty :whoop: ) and Big Dog says it will be two weeks its going through a redesign :bang: But my dealer has aquired one and shipping it over night then when the new ones are ready he will send me one of those  Did I mention I have a great dealer? Yep sure did

:bang: Same problem with different EHC and new plug wires.

I think I am running to the dealership Thursday means I am still off from USAF work
But with the new baby at home dont have too much time to ride the dog anyways

EHC and other BS

I have experienced the same issue. I've experienced alot of issues. My bike just dies every now and then under heavy acceleration too. Pull over and it fires back up. Happens all the time on the highway and entrance ramp. Just make sure you don't ride in front of the tractor trailers.

I've had the EHC relocation done according to the TSB, but it still happens. I'll just have to roll with the punches until ______(can't talk about it)_________________. My 05 Chopper has been in the shop for over a month due to the broken motor mounts. Big Dog says it's my fault. Yeah, ok if the dealer rep says so. I wonder if this has anything to do with the pending __(can't talk about it)____? It took BDM over 2 weeks just to get the right parts in the mail. With this type of reliability and massive down time, this bike is going to look awsome 30 years from now.
