Bandit Clutch

Getting ready to install a Bandit clutch in the doggie (finally broke down and bought one). Question - can you run Trick Shift fluid in the primary w/o any adverse effects to the clutch? I know Bandit recommends another fluid; just curious if anyone else out there has used Trick Shift and how it's worked out.

Why would you want to put something in there that they dont recommend???? just put what they want in there and be done with it...I just put one in mine and since I have had the bike brand new it hasnt grabbed like it does now.......good luck....

I've been using Trick Shift in my primary for the pass 3.5 years, and I haven't had any problems. Before I started using it I was having a time getting into neutral but when I changed fluids neutral problems were a thing of the past and it shift so much smoother. Just Sayin'

One of their recommendations is for Golden Spectro gear oil, which contains friction modifiers; as does Trick Shift. However, Trick Shift is an ATF fluid, which is what they do recommend. I know some people that use TS in their primaries, and was just curious if anyone has used it with a Bandit setup. I realize they don't list it under their "recommendations", but that doesn't necessarily mean it can't be used and doesn't work well. As long as it's non-synthetic and doesn't damage the plates, I want the best for it!!! :2thumbs:

I used Spectro with the Bandit clutch and had no problems.
Smooth shifting and no problems finding neutral....

All,
Got the clutch installed, adjusted, whole nine yards. Took it out yesterday and put about 50 miles on it to get the breakin started.....however....

When I left for work this morning I noticed two small leaks from the bottom of my primary on my garage floor. This has never happened before. Wondering if anyone else has had this issue using the Spectro gear oil recommended by Bandit? Obviously, it slipped past the o-ring seal when it was hot (as noticed by the spraying on my rear wheel). Didn't have a chance to check the primary bolts, but I locktighted the bolts when I reinstalled the primary and torqued everything down.

Anyone else have this issue? Brand new seal - hope I don't need to replace; was a bitch to get another one.

Did you torque the cover in the correct pattern?
Only other thing would be the gasket managed to get kinked in those two areas.
Pull the cover back off and check the gasket

Need some additional help here....

Have a question regarding the correct amount of oil to pour into the primary using the Bandit setup - Bandit's website states emphatically to use 14oz - yet I've seen on this site several times to use 32 oz - which is it? Bandit states to use the lesser amount to prevent hydraulic cavitation issues between the plates....
I've just pulled the cover off again because I was still having blow by issues past the seal. Going to check my vent plug to make sure it's clear, but I'm wondering if using 32 oz is too much, and when at speed the oil is being slung around causing the issue.
Any one have the correct amount to use??

iv been running 32oz and no problems, running same set up as you, dont over torque primary cover, i think spec was 8 inch pounds not foot pounds,might be smashing the o-ring?
