Spectro Golden Gear Lube SAE 80 is what the guys at Bandit recommend, I'd tend to lean towards what they use.... I just did this very mod.

Yes, we recommend Golden Spectro Golden Gear 80, or Bel Ray GearSaver 75 or 80. Any ATF Including Trick Shift will work fine in the clutch, but the chain will wear faster with the ATF than with oil. It's OK to run the oil level a little low if you have a drag issue, you only need enough for the ring gear to pick it up and splash oil on the chain and the clutch bearings. For long distance riding, I'd use a full quart to help keep the temp. down.

Somehow word got spread on this forum that we recommend Amsoil. We have NOT tested Amsoil, so I can't say yes or no on using it.

What about Klotz synthetic? I have a bottle but since my drain plug stripped I wonder if it's trying to tell me something?
