BAKER SYNCHRONOUS BELT DRIVE

Analog,
Very nice setup!! Great Pics!! Rather enjoyed this post, but i have a few questions, How is it off the line :) with the new belt versus stock set up(chain) ?, Is it quicker ? There must be a break in period, right? I will speak for myself but u know how it is when u get together with the crew and there is always that one person that wants to race, and you have to show them how the Big Dog runs :)

Ride It Like You Stole It !
The easier clutch pull/feel coupled with the dramatic "grab" of the BAKER Belt & Clutch will surprise you tenfold of what the DSSC did in terms of performance & launch capacity.
Neutral is EASY to find...thats E-A-S-Y the torque coefficient(feel and increase) is Very Dramatic & Instantanious.....and you WONT Blow Or Break the belt.If yer a stoplight pilot and like to launch yer bike.....you'll Love the BAKER Belt Drive unit....and with BAKERS Warranty yer never gonna need it.
LOOK for that one person who always wants to race.....
line Up & GO!!!!!! Run What Ya Brung......tell him :talk is cheap:D
Yer gonna LOVE a BAKER Belt Drive primary for your BDM.

What are these going for and are they as easy to install as the Karata? Does it come already with the support or is that extra? How far are you from NY if I want to drive up and pickl one up?

You should go read the Forum Justice thread. Especially my posts on page 7. Don't do business with this guy.

Edit: page numbers keep jumping around as people add and delete posts. For anyone else stumbling on this thread go here for info on Vince & VS Customs in Hunington CT.

Paul, the clutch pull is a little harder then the factory. You have to change out the clutch actuater in order for the clutch pack to disengage properly. It has a compond bow feel to it, as you pull the lever it pulls hard then feels as if it passes over center, (pull is a little easier) as clutch disengages.
Do you have a part number for the replacement clutch actuater?

Mick sent me this information - Now included in the BAKER SDB (Synchronous Belt Drive) Kit is pn 3096-DSSC and pn 3196A-DSSC; inner and outer ball and ramp. The inner andouter ball and ramp will come in all kits with the suffix -08, example: BDBDM-0-08. Starting in 2008 Big Dog Motorcycles changed the inner and
outer ball and ramp for ease in clutch lever effort. In order for the BAKER
Synchronous Belt Drive clutch to disengage properly the inner and outer
ball and ramp must be changed per your Factory Service Manual
. Factory clutch cable and clutch adjustment procedures are not affected by the new
inner and outer ball and ramp.

This is now part of the kit.
