baker clutch adjustment, need input

ok called Baker and they sent me a owners manual for the Baker six speed looks like simple instructions loosen the cable back off the lock nut lightly seat the push rod then back pushrod out a quarter turn put the lock nut nut back on...
Problem, the pushrod isn't getting a good BITE on the lock nut( not alot of thread showing). I'm confused

Welcome from Washington State, hope you enjoy the site. Hmmm sounds like your clutch hub nut may be loose because the pack might be pushing out as you adjust it, especially if you have very little threads showing when you tighten the lock nut. You should check that out...

loosen the locknut and back the adjusting screw off two or three turns then turn it back in until you lightly feel it contact the pushrod then turn out 1/4 turn

Loosen lock nut, start moving allen rod intill it starts to hit rod... stop and check there.

1/4 turn is to much on mine. the instructions are for those that dont understnad how it works. fine the area where when released the pressure plate is expanded, and when clutch is squeezed, you can see the disks freed of pressure.

If what you're saying is the pushrod is going too far in to have enough threads for the locknut to grab I'd be checking my clutch nut...
