Bad valve

I finally decided to take my K9 dog in and get the engine powder coated the same color as the bike. The shop is telling me that the machine shop they took the heads to is claiming it will take longer to strip the heads because of the bad valves. I am not a hard core engine guy, but the engine ran fine and there was not noise of valves tapping or anything like that.

How can I verify I am not getting duped here?

If your engine has TP rocker boxes, there's a good chance you have valve and/or valve guide problems. I find that a lot of BD owners, with the TP boxes on their motors, don't think they have problems. They think the motor is running well. It's VERY SIMPLE. It's a valve train geometry problem. :argue: It WILL bite you sooner or later.

you need to get the heads repaired properly first, and at the same time install the SS rocker boxes and rocker arms.
If you need someone to do the heads, you can send them to me for a full overhaul, and set up for your combination. I can do your carb also. My carb work is guaranteed to make more power than anyone else's mods.
