Its nice to see everyones bikes doing great. I have had nothing but hell with mine. Stranded 5 times. most recent on the way to bikes, blues and bbq weekend. I have had several EHC's, 6 batteries, 3 regulators, a starter and a speedo. aand thats just electrical. I am on my 3rd chrome rear wheel. I talked to Wayne Hansen at big dog to try and get me swapped out of it. He keeps jerking me around. 1yr old and over 3 mos down time in the shop.
I love the dog and the compliments it gets. I am just afraid to take it out of town now. The dealership has always been great til I wanted BDM to take it back. Now I get the cold shoulder. Go figure, you buy a expensive bike from them, spend a few thou extra on it there and get treated like you have the plague?????
Any input for solving this before the lawyer does all the talking for me???????:angry::spank::spank:

Why mess with Wayne anymore. Asked to speak to the corporate lawyer for BDM which also is the VP I think of the company. Ask if the bike Coleman got one of his friends to buy and broke down on his maiden voyage in Wichita was changed out or repaired correctly....:D
I would think they would treat you like they treated him...Sometimes enough is enough. They did send a semi to my house and pick up my bike and took it to the factory to try and fix it when I said I wanted them to trade me out as well. They did work with me and try to make it right..
Check your lemon laws for your state. They are pretty back and white if you choose to tell them to come and get it...

Not bashing just need help. The bike has completly died 3 times with no power, headlights either. Last time they replaced EHC, voltage reg, Battery, Starter and checked all the wiring connections. They also put it on the dyno for an hour to check everything under a load.
I understand everyone is here to help one another. They have helped me on my other Rdgeback that I had purchased used. After that I bought this one new for the peace of mind that I should be able to enjoy it when the time was available. I bought a new truck for the same reason. I own a trucking company and have to work on it all the time. So no need in having my toys there to work on also. Our fourwheelers and sxs are new for same reason. When its time to play its time to play. They are my therapy for the trials of life. I just need to feel secure when I get on my dog that its not gonna take a shit and leave me stranded. Just venting and wanted some input of other folks.

I had a 2007 K-9 same thing, bike would just quit. Replaced, tested, all components. Turned out to be a bad wiring harness.

Most companies won't respond unless there is an attorney involved. I recommend you
document your problems with your bike and have an attorney address your position
with BDM. It costs BDM to defend themselves in a lawsuit, at some point it is less cost
to settle with you.

Bullshit, lemon laws apply to bikes too. I have friends that "have" worked with the legal dept. They had to buy bikes back all the time. Or bribe the owner with a free paint job to make him happy.
Don't deal with Hansen. Get a lawyer!
I see your bike is an 08, ALOT of good people got the axe in 08. Alot of quality control people too...

You may want to have a very competent Tech take a good look at your dog for an "unbiased second opinion", someone who is very familiar with these bikes and the ehc.

One of the things these bikes really need to do is go on long runs. The bar hopping owner seems to have a lot of issues with these bikes.

Who is your dealer?

Agreed - my '06 K9 went back as a warranty replacement under the Washington State laws. Every state is different but lemon laws do apply to motorcycles. The minute you mention returning the bike under the lemon law statue your dealer should put you directly in contact with the manufacturer (BDM in this case). For me BDM did offer to put a new engine in and start the 2 year warranty over again but had had enough with that particular bike and got a new one (2008). That said and per the letter of the law, there is a deduction for wear & tear so if you have a lot of miles on your bike like I did (15K) or damage you will have to pay the difference plus any extras you get on the new bike that the old one did not have such as chrome, higher level paint job, etc. BDM was very professional with me in trading my bike back and the '08 has been flawless for 18,400 miles as of this morning. I did not hire an attorney...didn't need to...just find the law and see that the proper actions are taken. Read the law for your state, BDM will probably even send you a copy if you ask them. Like I said, they did not jerk me around, were very good to work with and stood behind their product.

All the bike has is 5100 miles on it now. Due to the current condition of it, no more miles can be added.
I love to ride. All these miles are from at least 100 miles each outting( if the dog permitted). I bought a bike I enjoy riding. Not real big on the bar seen or short putts.

:cheers:that sucks bro.i had a bent swing arm from the factory, bent piston rod, studs pulling from the case, blown head gaskets and ehc issues, all this under 7000 miles and i had to pay for some of the repairs and fixed them afterwards my self.however i would not trade it for anyother bike.i would still buy another bd.
