Back in Taliban Land

Well made it back to the land of Taliban, emeralds, rubies, sand, mountains, scare sheep and hidden women. Had to spend and extra day in Dubai and thus played tourist which was very nice.

Amazing place Dubai, saw the worlds Tallest Building (Burji Khalifa), The Worlds Largest Mall, The World Largest Syncornized Fountains, visted Ski Dubai (a skie slope inside a mall with decent runs on it), had some great food, saw beautiful women from all over the world, saw what seemed to be high dollar exotic cars from Lambo to Ferrari, Bentleys and on and on seemed like ever corner. Enjoyed my last fine drink for a few months, slept in a nice soft bed, etc.

Now back to no drink, crap food, so so bed, typical work BS and basically a polar opposite of Dubai.

Did have a good time at home with the wife and kids. Got to get some riding in (close to 1000 miles) over a few days, shared some great meals and drink with friends, saw some good music, saw the weather go from 60's to snowing within a day or two and then back up to upper 50 and back down.

All in all good time and was much needed but like all time way to short.

Damm Fiber ....be safe over there....any motorcycles in Dubai ?
Yes they do, even saw a couple of what appeared to be Big Dogs last time I went through. Did see a nice Buell at the Emirates Mall as well as HD shop. Ducati is supposed to open up a big store in the Dubai Mall soon. Saw a few custom choppers on the roads and lots of nice Sport Bikes.

Sounds like a superb way to spend the time off...
It was fun and a nice break to be honest. Not sure of all the details of Dubai, but many many impresive things there and for the most part very clean, lots of culture, safe and enjoyable.

Can be very expensive though and the Dubai Mall is many very very high dollar store. Me and the other went to the the Gold Shuk Section and I was overwhelmed and the level of some of the jewerlery. Hell this one watch store ahd nothing but top of the line handmade Swiss Movement watches. I thought Rolex and BErtlings were expensive, not-saw one watch that was over 200k. I record selling rapper of major NBA stars delight on the bling factor for sure.

Had a good time and hopefull the next time I go through, may have a little more time to explore. May have to actually come back sometime with the wife for a little vacation.

Wish you could have stayed in Dubai (skiing!) or better yet home!

Take care, Man!
Ken next I go through there and have time, I will actuall do some sking. Not the biggest slopes or most technical, but still pretty interesting considering it is in a mall in the middle of desert where temps in the summer easily can exceed 120.

They also had a full sized Ice Rink at the Dubai Mall and can do full NHL Hockey games there as well as Olympic type event, even seating for 2000 and big video board.

Here is a video I found of the Ski Dubai to give some idea
