Back home after another touring season

Hey BD members, I see a lot of new members in here. So I am finally back in Nashville been a busy summer. Let a guy test ride my bike last month and he over revved it and bent the exhaust valve nearly in half. Just got everything back together. The titanium valve spring retainers blew to pieces and the valve guide was damaged, but the piston and everything else held up. Whoever asked about how many pounds to tighten head bolts on a 107, I think we did 22 pounds and then another 8-10. What lesson did I learn? 1) do not let people test ride tour bike if you have changed the rev limiter setting. 2) go on the test ride with them LOL. Hey Ray wanted to give you a holla. Its good to be back with the club, we married one of our brothers this week and had a great biker wedding, I have vids so I will post some of it shortly. After thinking about selling my machine to get a Road King I changed my mind, Road Kings are slow although comfy, and I just couldn't do it. For the record my 2002 ProSport has been extremely dependable. I love that 107 S&S. So instead my crew are putting running boards on it and I am getting a solo seat with a back rest. Hope everyone had a great summer, I'll be poking my head in here more now that I am off the road.:2thumbs:

Welcome Back!

Lesson learned? Never let anyone who is not an owner of one of these bikes, ride yours. The proper level of respect needs to be adhered to when riding these magnificient steeds.

Thanks guys, in fact the guy did purchase the new valve, guides and retainers - which are 153$ a set(spring titanium retainers) and the rings. I took care of the top end gasket set, and myself and Bam a brother at the clubhouse had it back together in about 2 1/2 hours. We had to wait on the head though because they had to lap the valve and set the guides back in. He felt bad, think he missed a gear. It could of been much worse.

Its good to be back.
