Axel EHC - Tach Lights

I have one of the Axel EHC modules. Does anyone know if the low RPM flashing tach function should work with these modules? Thanks, Kurt

I thought so. This one does not flash the tach. I always got the tach flashing on cold start before. Wonder if the EHC controls this or the tach does it on it's own?

I've had 3 versions of Axels ehc and currently have the latest updated one in my K9 and all three the tach would flash on cold starts, do you have the latest one or one of the earlier editions of the ehc( not that it should matter) maybe the ehc doesn't control it would be interesting to know now that it has come up

It's a recent version. Just got it from Curtis this past winter. I sent Axel a note on this too. My bike always starts fine cold without choking it and the tach typically would flash till I raised the idle. Nothing has been changed other than the EHC.

Try turning the isle down as it's running and see what happens and did you notice if it ever dropped low enuff on the tach to actually flash after changing out the ehc?

I will try slowing it down tomorrow and see if I can force it on. Just odd and I quickly noticed it not flashing when I start it cold as it almost always flashed before.

Thanks Knothead. Really appreciate the info. It's hard to get past the price of these units. I've built a number of bikes from the ground up and have always designed and built my own wiring harnesses. Very simple with every system on its own fuse with no ehc or controllers. Nothing to go wrong other than a short. Maybe 80 bucks to do it.
I'm 73 and old school. Choppers should be minimal and simple.
Has anyone on this site ripped all the wiring out of their BD and went with wires and fuses? Love to hear from you.

If you can wire a bike for $80 in parts that can't be beat. How many circuits do you typically run ?

Are all of your EHCs ‘04 type Knot? What is different about the 58 type that had some issues?188B08F8-449D-4049-B921-1890754EA5C1.jpeg
