Not actuality what I said. Pulled a good one tonight, ran out of gas. I know from experance Big Dod peccocks don't have reserve fuel. luckly I was just 2 miles from home, and have a loving wife to take care of me. Has anyone changed thier peccock out to something else, that reserve fuel works.

Sounds like you might have already been in reserve to run out. I show you have a reserve of 1 quart... :D

Owners manual says 4.5 Gallons main capacity
1 Quart reserve capacity

Yeah, my reserve is a little unreliable, too. Can't figure it. Sometimes I get a lot of miles out of reserve, other times it's bone dry when I go to reserve. Couple weeks ago I ran low and switched to reserve, went about a mile to the nearest gas pump, and it stalled about 10 feet from the pump. Not a drop left in the tank. WTF?

both 03 choppers and the 05 ridge back a buddy of mine had were the same way, when your out of fuel, and kick it over to reserve, there's nothing there to keep you going. I'm headed to Springfield tomorrow, I'll stop at the dog dealership and see what they have to fix it and let you know.

I'm glad ya'll having fun at my expence. Checked at the dealership today, he knew my pain, and sent me on to BDM Performance. Reddog mentioned a seal, does anyone know if it can be replaced, or just change the petcock

Ha ha, even with my larger gas tank

Well at least I was able to hit reserve and make it the 300' to the gas station. Did have to get off in traffic to start back up because of my manual start button....

I didn't find anything on BDM Preformance site. I've been digging thru old posts, and found that this has been talked about before in July of 2010. Someone said that the reserve is a small hole in the brass tube, and if it gets stopped up, the reserve won't work. Sounds logical, has anyone had a petcock apart that can confirm this.
