Wonder what the real difference is? 10% better durability? Well they could go even higher they had it with the venom. I had 12k on a venom and it was still had life left but it was over 10 years old at that point

My ridgid I've put over 2k miles in September on and running the tire at 35-36lbs and it still seems to be wearing like its over inflated. I'm at about 6k on the 250, I was just going reading my logs I replaced the tire 3 years ago. I suspect it's only got about 2k left now. So I'll try this one next time around to compare

I just took my original Venom off at 15k. I get about 12-13k on my roadstar with the Venom. Not as much power but heavier bike. I just put Cobras on it this last yr before gathering.

Just read this is a "replacement" therefore I suspect the old cobra is no longer going to be made. Therefore I hope this is a good tire! We went downhill last time! If it gets worse I'll start checking out Shenko. Well I suppose it could matter what these new tires are going to go for? JP cycles has the 250 listed at $320! And the 300 at $400! Says item not available so I hope that's not the new Fucking prices! 2x old price that's not worth 10% durability

These were launched Oct 2nd

My rear tire does the exact same thing no matter what air pressure I run in it.

Need to hit more winding roads:whoop:. That way you wear more evenly no just kidding. My venom 330 is wearing good But I only have 3k on it. I am running 32-34 psi. Got to say though at 32-34 psi it defiantly smooths out these Iowa pot holes I mean roads :oldswear:. Only time will tell. Just ordered the cobra yesterday for the front as I could not fined the venom for it. Fortunately By the time these wear out some one will have ran a set of the cobra chrome and then I will know if they are any good.:chopper:

Figured I'd bring this back up for everyone, my earlier assumption proved correct the AV72 appears to be discontinued and if we want to stick with Avon we have to go with the Cobra Chrome.

I checked some websites and still some front tires available in AV72 but our 250 and 300 appear to be no longer there. I assume the fronts they are just waiting for them to go outta stock.

These cobra chromes are more money about $300 online for our 300 and $260 for the 250, so about $60-70 more than the AV72. They state an increase of 10% in tread life but at 6-8k that isn't even 1000 miles.

Considering those Shinkos are just under $200, I'd be curious what someone gets out of the new cobras, because I might just try a shinko on the next run. Problem is I want tires to match so have to buy a new front and rear.

Just wanted to give a heads up as everyone is about to start their riding season!

I think I'll need a new rear tire before the Gathering. JP has both old and new Avons and the new one is nearly $100 more. Shinko has only one 300 tire and its only $9 cheaper than the old Avon. Metzeler apparently makes a 300-35-18 as well but it's the most expensive. Maybe I should get it sooner than later and pick up one of the old Avons..........
