My buddy who recently signed up on this forum, Joleesb, was looking at a 2006 K-9 at a local dealer. Before he took the plunge a he told me a few things that didn't sound right to me. I looked at the dog and immediately saw that it had TP rocker boxes. As everyone posted the chrome was pitting bad on them without the possible issues of valve guide wear. It was missing a rear turn signal cover and the clear inner cover was discolored. I am guessing water damage. The salesman had told him how to "manually" use the compression releases to start the dog. It also would not start. It only had 7000 miles on it. While these can be repaired the lowest price for this dog was 15300.00. IMO too much for the repairs that will eventually be needed. Thanks to all the information I have gleaned from this forum I believe he steered clear of alot of headaches.
