Autometer speedo

I got tired of wobbly pointer and foggy face of the original speedo, I do like the analog face though.
So I got the new Autometer speedo, it looks good. Problem was the pointer dropped after about 100 miles. On the bright side it didn't matter after a light rain since the face fogged so bad, I couldn't see it!.
I sent the speedo back, it took them only 3 days to fix it under warranty. I think that was pretty fast service. Sure the mail back and forth added about a week to a total return time.
According to the repair invoive They did replace the pointer and applied anti fog solution to face. I do hope the solution works longer on speedo than those solutions usually do on my glasses or helmets! Well, we will see. I suppose that also means the speedo is not actually waterproof or water resistant.
I will raport if I have problems in future

What is a "speedo"???? oh right, that thing with a needle that after a good twist of the wrist gets stuck and it´s pointless to look at it anymore?

Roger that!

I think you should put silicone around the cable going into the back of speedo also Tapio. I am going to start doing that before I ship them from now on.
They put an additional water seal around the bezel and they sonically seal the button but I think that rear grommet will still let moisture in if not sealed correctly.

On my OEM I just removed the plug from the back and it solved my moisture problem. I think if the inside and outside temp. can equalize quicker, it will have a less tendency to fog.:zz2cents:
