OK, had the issue of bike shutting down at 70mph. On advice from the forum.
Dielectric grease every connector, Re-crimped any wire I could get my hands
on.Took right control housing apart to check for metal shavings. Had ignition switch overnight ed to me before the charity run with2400BC aka Bruce, for 146.00. replace switch. Out with the wife long island expressway bike fine since switch. about 200 miles. All of a sudden same thing. tach flashes like i
hit the shut off. Hit stop restart and ran another100 miles no problem.I am totally freaked out. So pissed I felt like putting the dog to sleep. But I love her. The bike and the wife. I am at a loss, As 1badk9 said don't want to be replacing parts i don't need. Have no mechanic, No more patience,OK maybe more patience. The problem is so inconsistent but atleasest once every time i am out. And at 70 to 80 on the expressway it is not a pleasant feeling. What to do ????????????????? Dont know what I would do without you guys.

Thanks
David

Travel at speeds from 0 to 69 and 81 to 120. With an issue so inconsistant, sure sounds like a loose wire or perhaps loose connections on your EHC. Hope you didn't fill the EHC with dielectric grease, did you? Just kidding. Hope you did. There's just not much to go on. Not a miss. No weird sound. Just a total shut down, then fires right back up and keeps on going. Maybe someone else has had a similar problem that can help. My issues are always drastic and life altering.

just the new key, never used a key chain, Just the key
The switches are temperamental. Last year Kaptian Amerika and I were passing a group of HD's on a two lane and at about 125 mph my bike shut down with a loud back fire. Pulled over turned the key off and then back on and it started right up. When we got to Wichita Jason hooked it up to his laptop and the ignition module showed that it had a shutdown with time and miles.
Another thing to is I've never gotten more than a year out of my batteries. Always leaving me stranded on the side of the road.
I would pull your EHC plugs and ensure they are full of die-electric grease as the service update requires all shops to do now.

Hope you get it fixed

man .........David I know that frustration too well. Intermittant electrical problems are hard to pinpoint. All I knew to share was my find. Luckily, I only had an ignition module needlessly bought before actually figuring it out. I'm sure someone else on this site has experienced simular issues and may have some ideas. Hope you get it found soon!

Un plug and check the pins on the EHC, Skid had the same thing it turned out to be a broken pin on the EHC.....

I had that problem with mine which is a 2006 Mastiff. I installed the Wire plus, back in 2008 and not had one problem with shutting off on me no matter how fast or how far I go. Nuff said, piss on the EHC.

Search for "ditch the bitch" and go to page 7. I had exactly that problem...dangerous. Even the NHTSA was aware of the BDM high speed shut downs. Wire plus fixed it for me, No problem for the past three years.
