Arlen Ness Kickstand

Just bolted up the Ness kickstand to my '07 K9. This item was suggested by some folks here on the forum who have used them as replacements for worn originals. I have attached a couple pictures because the darn thing just looks like it extends too far forward - but the bike 'appears' stable enough. Just seems like alot of stress on it. Anyone know if this is the way its supposed to be?

That doesn't look like mine on my 06 K-9. I'm trying to get into my photobucket and copy a pic of mine.

here's one I just took...look how far yours goes forward, mine doesn't go half that far.

Just ordered a new kickstand bracket from bdm performance for my old kickstand. The bracket had worn out. Hopefully the DOG dosen't fall over before it gets here!

Is that Ness one adjustable at all?

It's probably stable now but agreed too much stress for long term

Does the Ness have a stop knotched in the bracket like the stock, or does it extend until it stretches the spring, ect. If there is a hard stop built in, I would not worry about it so long as the bike doesn't lean more then the stock angle. The entire kick stand looks longer hence the greater angle.

To long I'd say and it makes to much of a "lever" so it seems likem it would fail sooner.

I have the same Ness on my Mastiff for about a year now with the same angle and it has a hard stop --- for it to break it would have to shear the bolt in half
