Did arlen work with Big Dog on a few custom bikes??? Does anyone know what I'am talking about.....Me and brother Raywood are trying to figure this out??? Thanks for everyone's wisdom on this subject...am curious....

It could be that it went through Arlen Ness shop in Dublin CA but I don't know why they would paint Arlen Ness on the fender unless the customer wanted it.

I've seen Ness signature series bikes before. Kinda like Shelby mustangs. Maybe he did some dogs?

I have ridden the Arlen Ness production bikes and they ride very nice. They have a few things going for them like the 124 cubic inch S&S engine, everything is chrome, the engine is rubber mounted, the front tire is meaty and 23 inches, and the front forks are 63mm. I have seen Highliners sit on the floor for several years and start over 40K and then end up in the low 30's. I liked the older Highliner vice the newer one with the downward sloped tank but they had 113 cubic inch motors.

Arlen makes all his money on parts vice the bikes and always has used bikes on the floor. The new production bikes are built as ordered. I once saw a custom bike gas tank being repainted in the shop with a different name so I would have to assume the original deal didn't pan out. You can get Arlen to sign his name on any bike if you work a deal with them. So, I can only assume the Arlen Ness symbol on a Big Dog was asked for. The used Big Dogs I saw did not.

Just my opinion and nothing else,

Huw

Ok I got a answer from Bultaco bob......What the deal is when Arlen Ness ordered the Big Dog motorcycles that were going to be sold at his shop in Dublin and San Bernadino, he had them custom handstripe painted on the rear fender by in his In House Painter...custom arlen ness Mirrors....and a few other things,The title on my Vin also says LE....For Limited Edition...So there we have it guys!!! Thanks for everyones help....

Damn brother... I'd love to see your bike. Only other ness big dog in town is a 2006 k9.. it has some trick paint but no pin stripe. RGS on the west side works on a lot of dogs. Good job on the research bro. Thanx for sharing.
