You ready to run in the AM Raywood?

I looked over my bike last night and thinking about putting the sissy bar on just to carry my stuff but I will do that Thursday. I know I am going to forget stuff but oh well Tanya has a uncle in Peoria that I can stop at for a refresh ha

Ray called from the top of Snoqualmie Pass @0715. Bike is covered in ice and snow, Interstate is very slushy and it is 30 degrees. Speedometer quit working. Elevation from here and into Boise is above 2500'. Except for 3 more huge hills to get over on Hwy 82, his next big obstacle is Cabbage (as truckers know it), Dead Mans Pass @4200' (as it shows on the map). This is a long steep climb, then about 140 miles of mostly deep canyon driving where the sun does not shine much.

Good thing is that after Ray gets out of the snow, it is only rain to Salt Lake City area. And all the way home.

Ray has the Big Dog Banner with him. Hopefully all you that are within a thousand miles (only a day or a day and a half ride) of this event will show up and sign this banner.

Updates as they occur.

Sorry it didn't work out. There were so many threads, PM's and posts on this trip (rally), and I was at work all day (not on the site) that I didn't even know Ray wasn't coming until he called me this evening (after I called his phone and left a message).

Ray started out riding in his "bubble", yet when we hooked up, he was in an "icecube".:D

BTW, under that layer of snow is a layer of ice. I gave him some tips on riding on this stuff, but it was very cold and when you have just rode thru 2 hours of rain and are chilled to the bone, who needs the ice and snow?

The weather here seriously sucked today and Ray is going to have words with Mother Nature and Al Gore about this Global Warming rumor.

I am sure he will tell of his misadventures soon. :2thumbs:

Just glad he came thru this ordeal safe and sound.

My greatest apologies everyone. I encouraged and coerist many here to attend this event and I'm the one that couldn't make it.

I have to tell you for the first time in my life "I quit"!!!!

The roads were so bad and I was so cold and soaked to the skin that I quit and headed home!

Sorry again for those that anticipated this event being so good. If I could have gotten there I would be there.

Here is some of what I dealt with today. So much for "Global Warming"!

Bike now safe in the garage!!!!

Ray, no apologies necessary! That is like one of those "Acts of God" for which one has NO control. Just glad you are safe.

It was just that I was expecting you and had watched my PM's occassionally and had my phone with me all day and had no idea that the "Trip Cancelled" post by Dakotabos was made.

Awesome (but NOT FUN pics)!
