Sucks in this day and age for sure.
It's probably not worth it to set up an LLC to bear the liability. But it came out good anyways.

The lawyers and judges should be the embarrassed ones here. They bring silly cases to court and the silly judges let them when they should be thrown out all together.
No wonder people try to sue for everything. When you can spill hot coffee on yourself and blame that on the company you bought it from and successfully sue them. Are legal system is pathetic and they're supposed to be the smart ones, ya right educated fools is what they are. Not in every case but a lot jmo

And then the lawyers become politicians. That explains a lot about what is going on in the country right now. But it's still the best there is!
No offense to any lawyers it's not a job that I could do not one I would ever want.

Its exactly the reason why I don't make or sell a number of items.

As a stupid European I don't understand what would be illegal making sissy bars that fit Bid Dog. I do get that making the exact copy is breach of copyrights, but if memory serves me even with a patent 6 differences is enough. By making bar by hand you hardly can make exact copy in legal meaning.
