Looks real good ! Would match my paint

Price seems good ... don't know anything about the company. I unfortunately went the " $$ " route.:loony:

That's a good price I suppose. $600- for the other  I'd have to wreck my bike first to afford one of those. That's a Gas joke if anyone missed it

Yea, I've heard of those. I called the owner of Northwoodz. Very nice guy. He said they have slots all the way around.

I bought a used D&M unit from a guy on the "other site" for $350, before I even had my bike.

There was a lot of controversy regarding how well they work, particularly as the speed increases, and whether they had to be mounted vertically to avoid any "ram air effect." Mine has worked fine mounted horizontally, showing no such symptoms.

You will have to rig something up with the enrichener, which is an integral part of the BDM air cleaner. In the picture below you can see a knob just below the left arrow. Frankly, this is not a big deal, since I never use the enrichener anyway - but you do have to do something with it.

Regarding how open it is - there is a small space between the filter itself and the interior surface of the spike cover, so essentially the entire filter surface is exposed. That is, the air flow is not restricted at all by the chrome spike cover - it just supports the filter element on the front and back. If you look carefully in the picture below, you can see the gap just below the right arrow. I suspect the one on eBay is similar, though it is hard to tell from the pictures.

It sounds like several people want to try one - it may be a good item for a group buy, if someone wants to take the lead and do a little negotiating.

^yeah, I want one again since up here in CO they flow enough.

Mario, your mission, whether you choose to accept it or not, is to email/call the guy back and see what the "group buy" price is. Ask him how much if we bought, say, 5 at once (maybe more, who knows, but for the right price we all will buy shit we don't need). The D&M uses a K&N filter and frankly if you do some research K&N filters are crap and not worth any more than any other fiber/oil filter element. That being said, that price is HALF the D&M PLUS it comes with the bracket which that damn thing alone is another 200 bucks...

Gas man also agreed to put 30% of his crash sale money toward our group buy, thanks gas! :hi: :hi:

I'll call him tomorrow and get a price on 5 and 10 units to sell. I'm familiar with performance increases expected from mods such as this. I've tweaked mustangs up to 700+rwhp and know all about K&N's 15rwhp claim that is actually ~3rwhp at best. I'll post what I find out.

Do we have to follow any "Group Buy" guidelines set by the moderators?

More like a performance decrease. I always had problems with mine near redline. Ran out of air.
