Looking at changing out to a M-Unit from Motogadget. Have read every thread in here on subject and compariing the wire plus vs rewire vs M unit, decided on M unit, but did not see anyone use it on an EFI? (2007 Bulldog here).

hello mr P. Have a few small issues, like starter getting stuck, sometimes ( maybe 2 times bike just shuts off). Plan on taking a few long trips this summer and just want to make sure no issues on the road by myself. I like the idea of removing the ehc since it seems to be an issue with so many.

I changed out my ehc for the wire plus about two years ago. I am still not sure it was a bad ehc. In the near future, I plan on sending it to curtis to check out. I would check all your connections including the key switch before spending the money. Seems like someone on here switched to the "m" unit and had a bunch of trouble. might want to do a search.

I used the M and did a big writeup. Search my posts if you dont find it right away. As far as EFI goes I dont see any reason you couldn't do it. Realize the M is not made for any 1 bike and is somewhat generic. You will have to do the wiring and figure some stuff out for yourself. My M fried, but then again so did my WirePlus. I will likely go with another M but I'm looking into doing some things to regulate the electrical system a bit. Maybe isolate the M from the charging and battery system with some capacitance and regulators...but I haven't really thought it through yet.

The only thing the EHC did was give power, ignition and battery to the EFI module.

I can provide specifics later if needed. You can wire those independent.

excuse my stupidity so are you saying its would work? Seems to me ( and I am really stupid when it comes to the electronics stuff) the M unit with a few mods would eliminate some if the issues with ignition, grouping and such?

Get in touch with the Europeans members... some of them gave very good feedback about this M-Unit. It seems to wrok very well and it has a plus.. it has an alarm too! I am looking into it for the future too.. even though I have a spare EHC on the shelf just in case.... you know... Europe is very far away from you guys... " Fail to prepare... Prepare to fail"! :D
