Time to replace POS Avons and i don't want to give avon any more of my money than i have to. Metzlers are pricey and from what i read, last no longer than avons.

Looking to put a cobra on the back and a dunlop on the front.

I've ran metzler in the back (MUCH better than Avon) and avon in the front with no issues. Also have done metzler and or avon in the back and dunlop and/or metzler up front with zero issues. I personally liked the way the avon felt in the front, but I'll never use another of of the rears until they work through whatever the hell is going on with them.

replaced my avon front with a metzeler because of split issues. ran Mets on front and avon on rear for a year while the rest was wearing out. have metzlers on both now

Uhhhhh pricey? Considering it will last exponentially longer than those dumb ass new Avon's and they cost a just bit more, I'd say you get what you pay for. I just put new Metzler's on front and rear and hate that I ever paid for an Avon. to me Avon is too pricey for a product that doesn't last, I got just a few thousand miles out of my last Avon before it started to have odd wear patterns. I opted to get a front tire too, that was under $80, but there's no issue with different brands on front and rear.
Dennis Kirk or Drag Specialties has them at a fair price.

I just replaced an Avon up front with a Michelin. Getting a lot of miles out of the michelins on the Harley's figured I would try it out. The Avon was splitting down inside the threads. Running a Metz on back.
