the cutting out at high revs is probably a rev limiter, thet wont let you over rev the motor hopefully.do you have baffels in those short pipes, maybe causing decal popping

I just put a spiked air cleaner on my 06 Pitbull and it came with the support bracket also I needed to change the main jet to the next size up , you can change it by removing the carb bowl drain plug , I didn't even need to remove the bowl at all , just be very careful when you put the jet back in that it goes in straight. The Jet made all the difference in the world , popping on decal stopped etc...

They must have fixed something in 05 because mine doesn't do that...

I don't think the design was changed but I think the HVHP oil pump does a better job at scavenging so you don't drop to zero for a split second.
