I have an '07 K9 and and the chrome is flaking off the rocker box covers. Does anyone else have this problem? If so, did BDM warranty it?

Most likely if they are teh TP boxes (4 bolts) they will warrenty them regardless due to its a known problem. The benifit is you'll get the better S&S boxes.

6 months on chrome. Mine started flaking and pealing at about 18 months. Contacted BDM and they said no initially. I kept on talking with them and told them it was a known problem and they said they would do it as a one time replacement. I also have problems with the front fork brace. I have replaced it with one I got from Nelson that I bought and I noticed last week its also pealing and bubbling up.

:hi: same problem with the front fork brace. second one lasted maybe 3 months before it started to peel. boxes are original and still good-to-go.

salt water is absolutely part of the problem, I haven't had any problems since moving to Ohio with chrome.

Yeah, the rocker box cover on the front cylinder looks like hell on my '05 Chopper as the chrome is flacking off on spots, but the rear cylinder looks like new. Mine was WAY past warranty so I guess I'm stuck with it. Anyone know what a new cover costs?
