Anyone have a gas cap for the Landmark Paintsaver they want to sell?

I have always had the swollen gas cap problem a lot of guys seem to have.
I see a couple years ago guys were mocking up caps to fit into the OE Landmark Paint saver.
By any chance anyone have one they wish to part with?

Thanks!

I may just try that.
I remember seeing a really cool cap a couple years ago that was very similar to the Mad Clown wheels. I could really kick myself in the ass now for not buying it.
I thought BDM would be around for decades. :(

I bought on of Jakes billet caps, I still have the original cap, let me know if the vasoline doesn't work for you.

Thanks for the offer! My cap looks fine, but gets tight.
Because of that I would like to upgrade from OE to something easier to turn.
However, I'll need to borrow the wife's vaso this weekend and try that trick first. :)

We removed the paintsaver from Postman's bike and he is using a cap that fits the standard Harley thread. He got his from JP Cycles, the big thing was getting out the old paintsaver. A heat gun and a large EZ-out made it a snap.

Bowhunter - I did that a few years ago - removed the paint saver and put in a pop up fush mount cap... problem is the bung is a strange thread size on our tanks. A standard cap will fit but slightly loose causing fumes to get under the paint.. I even sealed it with JP Weld prior to installing but did not help.. Not sure where the tanks come from, Daytec or where but the bung thread seems to be unique and not standard size...

For now I will hope for someone looking to sell their BDM that would be willing to part with their custom Landmark cap. ;)

Lambo-odd, I removed the paint savers from my tank last year and fitted stock HD caps and they seem to fit perfectly, no problems here whatsoever. Not sure about the year of your K9, I have an '04 Mastiff.
Erik-If you can sort this out, my recommendation is the HD caps, they work (at least on my bike) flawlessly, and the price is reasonable.

I wish I had more money.
Hey Eric. I have the part you need. Unless you are dead set on a new cap. All you need to remedy your situation is the plastic threaded part. Let me know if you want it.

Thanks man.

I am going to try the vaso trick first. But I sure would have loved to have one of those Low Down caps.

Last time I was looking for new caps before I switched to Harley caps I saw the stock caps on J/P Cycles webb site and catalog.

2006 Daytec frame - Tried 2 caps, both were flush mount, then push to pop out and spin entire cap out - If you turn cap about half way out, you can wiggle it and feel it is loose in the threads... cheap cap made of plastic.
