Anybody try this?

You'll be happiest with the 9 plate setup, and the ball & ramp set up for a 12 plate. Call us crazy, but we do it all the time, and our customers love us for it. (More throw) You will end up with a friction disc directly against the pressure plate. Any questions, fell free to give us a call.

I run the 9 plate setup that came on my 07. It works fine. I assume it's the ball and ramp for the 9 plate too considering I never changed it, but who knows.

Thanks for your input, I am sure that C.A. Jones knows these bikes, I am just curious why Baker says you need to upgrade the 9 plate with a easy pull ramp and see what else this will do for my K9.
Thank you Joe

Less plates, less distance to move them to separate. for instance, lets say if you have .003 between the 9 disc's =.027. Now the 12 disc's =.036. So the clutch lever only moves so far no matter which disc set up is in there. But the soft pull has a different ramp that requires a longer throw and if you use less disc's, it will still separate them enough to disengage.
