Have an 06 Pit Bull with a high compression 117 (carb). It has a gen1 rip kit (wiring harness/ehc).
Ive repaired a couple problems already, I had the tank off for the last fix, which was the compression relief valve on the #1 cylinder. After the repair I fired it up just to make sure the solenoid worked properly. It ran for a couple seconds then I shut it down. Did the rest of the re-assembly, fuel tank etc, and once that was done I tried to fire it up and it wont run. Cranks but no start. After some investigation I discovered that there was no spark. And also discovered that the ignition module showed no sign of life (no led with key on and run switch pressed. And no led while cranking.
I have searched everywhere for an actual "schematic" of the new harness and cant find one. While i'm going through the process of circuit tracing to locate the problem, nit only do I not find it, I also have had to use the schematic for the original ehc module and harness which, as i'm sure you're aware, leaves me making assumptions for parts of the circuit in the new harness. Primarily, I cannot determine the actual power supply for the ign module. What I came up with after doing my own tracing is that the power supply for the ign module is coming from the speedo circuit board. I don't believe that is correct but I caant seem to find anything other than the installation instructions the came with the rip kit.
Is there a "schematic" of the replacement harness included in the kit? If not could somebody please tell me where the ign module "actually" gets it's power from? Please... Cause I dont want to throw any parts at this bad boy in the hopes that it fixes it. I'd much rather figure out what is going on now and why its happening. Seems kinda weird that it will run one minute and then not the next. The only process that was done between when it ran and then didn't is reinstalling the tank, fuel lines and side covers and seat.... I will admit, with no problem at all, that im stuck.
Any info anybody may have to get me beyond this issue will be greatly appreciated..... Ride long, Be safe.....Pat

Yes, but because of an issue with room between the tank and the frame I removed all the plug connections and soldered the connections and insulated them with weather pack heat shrink. All of which was done a day or two prior to the current issue. The bike had run with no problem at least twice before whats up now. (There were a few other repairs done prior to the current scenario).. If you would like I would be happy to elaborate on the repairs that have been made since I became involved with the bike. Short version ---- The bike belongs to a friend who made the mistake of allowing an individual to "borrow" the bike for a few days. And when he instructed this person to bring the bike back a day earlier, than was originally planned, this person became upset and decided he was going to hack the entire electrical system up with a knife before returning the bike. At that point my friend bought the Gen1 Rip Kit, consisting of the "updated" harness and EHC module. My friend is an average mechanic but did a fairly awesome job of installing the new kit but not well enough for the bike to run. Thats when my help was requested to make the repairs necessary for the bike to be functional again.
However, as I said earlier, the bike was running prior to the ign module deciding to no longer function.
I realize that explanation didn't seem like a "short" version but, trust me, I am a mechanic that stands behind all of my repairs.
Therefore when I am asked to fix a ride that has had something like this happen to it, I examine and check pretty much the entire electrical system, top to bottom and front to back, so that i can comfortably stand behind the finished product.

(as I said, I will be happy to provide you with a list of things that i found to be in disrepair and corrected up to this point if you would like) And one final note--- It sat for 6 years prior to today without functioning.

And to be clear, I am very appreciative of any insight or reference material you can provide to help me out.

I appreciate the response brother.
The kit is already installed, I was just basically trying to see if anybody could either steer me to an actual schematic (or diagram) of the kits harness so I could locate exactly where the ignition module got its power from...
