I am replacing my mirrors as a result of my latest trailer incident. My old mirrors vibrated loose and were impossible to see anything out of. Anyone have any suggestions? Here are the ones I was thinking about.

Anyone ever tried them?

Thats how my old mirrors were at first, but then I did alot of adjusting and got to where I could see out of one all time and I had duck a little to see out of the other one. I am willing to sacrifice a LITTLE style for function. I would like to meet in the middle. My old mirrors were the tiny tribal looking pointy mirrirs with the split stems.

Oh and to answer your question, YES. I like to let the dog stretch its legs quite often, so I am constantly looking in my mirrors for the fuzz.

just go fast enough to where they can't catch you!

i have the pointy tribal mirrors too, can't see. it took a while to get used to riding with them, or without them i should say. even if i adjust them, all i see are my shoulders. if you find some stylish ones you could still see out of, that would be great.

So I don't like the way the stock ones on my 08 Ridgeback look so much but they work well. I was riding with some guys the other night and theirs were rotating around and such so they were useless. Why not just take them off? This is kinda like the helmet discussion. If you are going to have mirrors shouldn't they work? That's just my $0.02 worth... :loony:

they look like the mirrors I'm currently using - pretty good. I got them real cheap on ebay.

These are the ones I really want though - not cheap. Hope the link works.

Drummin -- I tried a set of those last year. Four months of everyday use and they ball-joints could NOT take the vibration and they became too loose to ever adjust right. They're sleeping with the fishes now...

I got these mirrors from Debrix.com, they match my paint pretty good. Then I got mirror adapters with a square head from Wicked Image.

I too have Wicked Image Gothics. I love them and they look great. I had a cheaper version, but even with loktite they would not stay up. Finally, I traded them in for the WIs. Big bucks, though.

I've had the Pro-Ones on for about a month now...

They look great and seem to be well made.....and I can see enough behind me too....

I may be in the minority here, but I actually like the stock mirrors and being able to see behind me a bit. However, my are a bit pitted, anyone have a stock pair in great shape for sale?

Drummin,

I actually had those exact mirrors on my first bike, 883 Hugger. I got it out of the shop with those mirrors after an accident. I took 'em back 2 days later cuz I had so much less vision than the stock harley mirrors. That sporty vibrated a lot so even with the stock mirrors, I used them just to see the wobbly headlights behind me. When I wasn't on the freeway though, I liked the visibility under less vibration. I know I was also being extra cautious then when I traded in those small mirrors for bigger mirrors cuz it was my first year of riding and that was my sole transportation. Today, I have some Iron Cross mirrors on my chopper that I can't see much out of but look bad as hell. I look over my shoulder most times out of habit so as long as I can see some wobbly objects and headlights, I'm fine with them.

Here's the ones I replaced those small mirrors you're asking bout with from Kuryakyn: Küryakyn
