Any idea's???

Hey gang, On my 2003 Chopper my high beams stopped working, clicked onto low beam and got lights. Got home and replaced light. Low beam was fine, clicked to high beam and nothing! I know my controls are the same as HD this is before BD went with there own stuff. I also checked the light bucket for any cut or burned wired and found none.

My low beam issue was a bad pin connection in the ehc plug

Just like Jan said look for corrosion at the connections on the ehc. More than likely a easy fix.:2thumbs:

I had the same thing happen on my 03 chopper (lost the low beam) and after buying a new headlamp ... it was the ground wires on the left side behind the battery... spedo and headlights ground out there.. I wiggled the wires and heard a light "snap" and there I was...with headlights and a spedo.. after redoing the grounds its work great..

Use dielectric grease on the cable end covering all the pins after cleaning out old grease very gingerly.

Bulb socket melted? Is the replacement bulb known GOOD?

Yes, the replacement is good. I run Lifetime warranty bulbs. I was thinking maybe the replacement bulb could be bad so I took the bulb (same model bulb) out of my HD and swapped them. Bulb worked good in the HD. SO that's not the issue. I will get dielectric grease and try that. Is there a prefered brand. I have never used dielectrical grease before.
